Yay!

The show Saturday and all the festivities that went with it were great! The show sold out - I was really happy for my brother. Everyone was there. To paraphrase the band, "We had a great time, we got drunk outta our minds." We all headed to the Cambridgeport Saloon afterwards and it was packed, just like old times. C even bought me a dozen roses from a (homeless?) guy by the side of the road. Nice. Strange, but nice.

The next day, after watching the band's brand new DVD (which rocks), C and I headed out for lunch and car shopping for me. I bought a new car! We picked it up last night. It's a Ford Escape and while I don't consider myself an SUV person, I think it's cute and fun to drive. I really love it. This should keep me occupied for awhile, I hope.

Oh! Apparently the woman who introduced me and C to each other told my brother's girlfriend that C had bought me an engagement ring. It must not be true because I heard about this from him and he was telling me how he had to explain to A (the girlfriend) that it's not true. Hmmmm. How did the rumor start? Why did C choose to even mention this to me as I would have never (likely) known about this? It makes my head spin so I think about my new car instead. It's my pseudo-engagement ring that I bought for myself. Sigh.

No, I'm really not getting that impatient. I am getting a little bit antsy and we talk about it all the time so what am I to think? Like I said, my car will have to suffice for now. I can justify the expense now but when (if?) we're planning a wedding, finances might get a little tight. Oh well, I'll live in the moment.

It turns out that C was able to get next Thursday and Friday off from work so he'll be coming to the Cape for the tail end of the family vacation. I'm psyched! It will be weird sleeping in separate rooms and not being able to smooch and stuff but it will be worth it just to be able to spend time with him. I don't know how I would have survived the whole week without him. Is that bad? My brother's girlfriend is also planning to come at the end of the week and C is psyched because she hasn't met our parents yet so he figures the pressure is off of him and onto her. I just hope we all have a fun, relaxing time. It has to be better than working all week, right?
